Psychotherapy / Counselling Psychology / Supervision

Dr Elisa Cunial Trotta DCounsPsy, CPsychol, BPS, BACP and HCPC reg

I am a Chartered Counselling Psychologist offering individual and couple therapy in English, Italian and French. I also offer supervision to students and qualified colleagues.

I aim to help clients approach their concerns with clarity and insight in order to create new tools and strategies to move forward.

I have experience in helping people deal with a variety of issues, including:

  • Loss and bereavement
  • Trauma and abuse
  • Relationships and parenting
  • Abortion and miscarriage
  • Depression (including post-natal depression)
  • Anxiety
  • Eating disorders
  • Chronic and life-threatening illness
  • Infertility problems and sexuality
  • Mid-life crisis and life transitions
  • Self-esteem and creativity
  • Work related problems
  • Spirituality

I practice from an integrative perspective, which means that I combine different models of therapy. My work is particularly informed by the humanistic, existential and psychodynamic approach, as well as the systemic approach for couple therapy.

I offer supervision to students and qualified counsellors, psychotherapists and counselling psychologists. I work both face-to-face and via Skype, one-to-one and in small groups.

I have experience working with students and colleagues who practice in a variety of contexts, such as the private sector, charities, schools and educational settings, health and care institutions, as well as in private practice. I have supervised art therapists, play therapists and drama therapists as well.

I regard supervision as a reflective space where professionals can process and elaborate the dynamics and complexities of their work.

I am on the British Psychological Society's (BPS) Register of Applied Psychology Practice Supervisors (RAPPS).

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a Chartered Counselling Psychologist with The British Psychological Society (BPS), where I am a full member of the Division of Counselling Psychology. I am also a registered member of BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council).
